Chase Jarvis is featured on Apple.com in the latest and greatest photo software today released from Apple, Aperture 3. In the feature video, Chase uses the new program to edit images and scrub thru video he captured during a Songs For Eating and Drinking evening, one of his personal fine art projects. Jarvis said in a blog post about the new software, “Aperture 3.0 has the power and grace that we’ve come to expect from Apple.”

Chase Jarvis’ iPhone photography app, Best Camera, is featured in United Airlines’ Hemisphere Magazine’s this month. It’s 18 “coolest cutting-edge innovations” that people will be hankering for in 2010. Best Camera “supercharges the device’s photo functions, allowing users to add artistic effects and share directly to social network platforms…[the app’s] easy-to-use effects icons turn your hohum snapshots into arty pics that look almost professional.”

Wired declares 2009 as “the year of the app,” rightfully so with more than 100,000 apps in the App Store. In their “20 Favorite iPhone Apps of 2009“, Wired includes Chase Jarvis’ Best Camera photography app for its ability to make photos from even the first- and second-generation iPhones “look awesome”.

“Best Camera grabs pictures from your iPhone camera roll, lets you process them and then share them via Twitter, Facebook and e-mail. A slick interface makes the process easy: A rolling strip of icons at the bottom of the screen contains your editing tools.”

National Public Radio, KUOW, Hosts Chase Jarvis On-Air

Seattle’s radio show, KUOW, today invited Chase Jarvis on-air to discuss how his artistic passions lead him to create two of his most recent projects that have made lasting impressions worldwide: his ‘Best Camera’ project and ‘Seattle 100’.

Macworld Awards Best Camera “Top 20 Apps of 2009” in its Annual Gem Awards

Macworld today selected Best Camera and 19 other apps as the best overall iPhone applications of 2009. This comes from a remarkable list of more than 80,000 apps.

“We’ve spent the past year looking at as many iPhone apps as possible to find the ones deserving of accolades.” Best Camera takes the cake for the Best Photo App of the year not only because of it’s built in ecosystem but also the ability to upload images to Facebook, Twitter, or the Best Camera Website. “That last option—which connects you to an active online community—is where Best Camera really stands out.”

PDNedu Sheds Light on Chase Jarvis’s Worldview

In an article for Photo District New, writer Hal Stucker recently examined how Chase Jarvis has taken a holistic approach to online community building and networking. Stucker writes, “Perhaps more than any other contemporary photographer, Jarvis has embraced online social networking and is using it not only as a way to define his brand and make himself more transparent to potential clients, but also as a way of thinking out loud, of connecting visual and verbal ideas for himself and other, and of creating a virtual community that helping to connect individuals interested in visual art and visual communication in all its forms.” Chase mentions that “the whole social media phenomenon is much bigger than just having a blog” but more that it about an engaged conversation with the world. “It’s a global cocktail party, and it never stops.”
